Modern Apprenticeships for Employers

Independent Training Consultants Limited (ITC), deliver training and development opportunities in the hospitality and business sectors. We are a Scottish Qualifications Approved Centre to deliver training to a wide range of different organisations throughout the central belt of Scotland and further afield.

FREE Modern Apprenticeship places available

The Modern Apprenticeships are fully funded by the Scottish Government and free to 16-24 year old employed staff.

The Scottish Vocational Qualification is delivered in the workplace and the candidate is assessed during normal working activities. This is beneficial to the candidate and company as the candidate is not taken away from their work duties. The candidate will receive an industry recognised certificate on completion, which helps with their personal development and will enhance employment opportunities. The candidate will receive a £100 bonus on completion.

Employment Recruitment Incentive £1500

An Employment Recruitment Incentive of £1500 can be available periodicaly for companies who have staff who undertake the Modern Apprentice Qualification and are 16-19years old, or if you are looking to employ a 16-19 year old and they undertake a Modern Apprenticeship (subject to meeting required criteria).

The following are some of the Modern Apprenticeships currently attracting full funding:

Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Level 3

 May be supervising other staff as part of your job role to achieve this course. It is suitable for supervisors in restaurants, bars, housekeeping, reception, kitchen, or, indeed, for general or customer liaison managers. This may be in small or large hotels, restaurants, cafes, workplace canteens, residential homes or any other outlets which involve the provision of hospitality services to the public

Food and Beverage Service Level 2

This qualification is for staff who work as part of a team, providing food, soft drinks, coffees or alcoholic beverages for their customers, who are likely to work in cafes, restaurants hotels, or pubs

Food Service Level 2

This qualification is for staff who work as part of a team, providing food and sometimes beverages for their customers, who are likely to work in cafes, restaurants hotels, or pubs.

Front of House Reception Level 2

This qualification is suitable for many hotel staff, particularly in small hotels, guest houses or B&Bs, and for those who are employed as receptionists in larger hotels. It may also be suitable for receptionists employed to do similar tasks in other establishments, such as care homes or private hospitals

Housekeeping Level 2

This qualification is most suitable for staff working as housekeepers or cleaning staff in small hotels, guest houses, B&Bs, care homes or other private residential establishments

Kitchen Services Level 2

This qualification is suitable for staff working in a restaurant, small hot food takeaway restaurants, such as fish and chip shops, burger vans etc, preparing and serving mainly pre prepared or pre cooked items, and also undertake extra tasks such as promoting new items to customers, or completing kitchen records etc..

Hospitality Level 2

 The job role involves either preparing or serving food items, this course is most suitable for staff working in small hotels, restaurants or cafes. Candidates may have a very broad job role, which covers housekeeping, reception, food service and food preparation, and this SVQ has the scope to let them choose units from each of their different roles.

Professional Cookery Level 2

This qualification is suitable for trainee chefs or cooks involved with the preparation and/or cooking of food. They may be working in cafes, restaurants, hotels, workplace canteens, or residential homes

Professional Cookery Level 3

The qualification requires some advanced skills the production of complex dishes. They may working in fine dining restaurants, or good quality hotels.

We work closely with the industry to ensure that its courses remain current and relevant, its senior staff sit on a number of industry and education bodies where the latest developments are discussed and ITC uses this information to develop courses to bring your staff and managers up to speed.
